Sarah Sze

I was drawn to Sze's work by the structure of her work and how she positions the lighting to highlight individual pieces forming a whole structure.

The relationship she creates between her work and the environment that it centures around forms a basis for her piece to grow, although her work is quite architectural and mechanical it also processes a very organic nature by the found and recycled objects displayed in her work.

There is also a sense of time within most of her work, as most of Sze's work is displayed in a large studio space, the public can picture it as a working environment, we can imagine it being made and see it falling apart, a
nother way Sze relates to time within her work is by using items from throughout the day, such as waste from her lunch that day, so the objects are located in time.

  1. An excellent blog Alex you write thoughtfully and intelligently about each of your artists and offer good examples of their work. I particularly like the way you write about Erwin Wurms work it shows that you have a genuine interest and feel able to write with some passion about his work.
